This painting can go both ways! When I first was painting it, I saw it meaning the Lord coming in the flesh, pouring out his spirit admist a dark and broken world and eventually giving his life for us!
As I was about to put forth scriptures, I heard "with a cry of command" in my spirit. And with that, I realized that this not only represents His first coming, but His second coming too!
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16 ESV

The Glory of Jesus Christ. The lamb that was slain, the King of Glory, the Lion of Judah, the Lord of Lords who rose, who Is, and Was and still Is to come. AND He WILL come again!
